Love Cider is not only made from locally grown, honey-sweet apples, it’s infused with blessings from the Gods at Iwate’s Hatsukoi Shrine, better known locally as the Shrine of First Loves.
From first pluck and first press, to first sip and first love, it’s a cider that’s dedicated and crafted purely for life’s most unforgettable romantic encounters.

Sekinoichi is a sake brewer founded in 1918 in Ichinoseki City, Iwate Prefecture. In this brewery is a shrine of legends, loved by locals, one that promises to bring one first’s love to fruition - Hatsukoi shrine. ‘Love Cider’ is made from apples blessed at this shrine.

  • Born from the artistry of Hidehira lacquer, this arrow spirit strikes directly at the heart of its yearned target.

  • A divine mallet born from red pine, the prefectural tree of Iwate. Beyond it’s appearance, its tonal characteristics resonate uniquely, a melody that can bring two hearts together.

  • A divine messenger in the form of Iwate’s prefectural bird, the pheasant. With its fan-shaped tail unfolding, it spreads good fortune and carries messages of love.

  • Inspired by the starry heavens that captivated Iwate-born author Kenji Miyazawa, this star descends from the heavens to orchestrate a night of pure romance.

  • A spirit residing in the pure streams of the Geibikei Gorge. It mirrors one’s genuine feelings while washing away any doubts about love.

  • A butterfly adorned with Iwate’s specialty flower, the gentian, brings good fortune. Signifying “victory”, the flower is a wish of love’s fruition.
